When I was doing my undergrad at UBC, I worked one summer at a little French restaurant in Vancouver called the Frog and Peach. Shortly after getting the job, I acquired a roommate. Mike and the restaurant were my introduction to all kinds of new loves; topping the list were Ella Fitzgerald, port, creme brulee, tiramisu, and the Olympic Peninsula.
This month’s DB challenge is taking me on a walk down memory lane; one filled with late night smoky voiced ladies singing while we took turns sneaking into the walk in cooler to make bite sized impromptu tiramisu in our hands. The February 2010 Daring Bakers’ challenge was hosted by Aparna of My Diverse Kitchen and Deeba of Passionate About Baking. They chose Tiramisu as the challenge for the month. Their challenge recipe is based on recipes from The Washington Post, Cordon Bleu at Home and Baking Obsession.
Enjoy. I know we did. Cheers Ella and Mike!

Umm…that looks really good. And it’s only a picture of the ingredients. Anytime you want to move back to Vancouver and make that stuff, feel free!
